EP08 — Giants: What the Bones Don’t Tell You

Veil and Broc podcast EP08 cover — Old World pillar, Broc with cane on yellow card, gold-bronze EP08 OLD WORLD text

Giant skeletons in nineteenth-century newspapers. Giant myths on every continent, from Norse legend to South American lore. In this episode of the Old World pillar, Veil and Broc go looking for what’s actually behind the world’s oldest recurring story — and it isn’t the bones.

Veil guides. Broc doubts out loud — so you don’t have to. Together they trace the pattern hiding inside every giant myth: not a body, but a warning about power that forgets it has a limit.

Power Without a Ceiling

Every culture on earth tells a giant story — Norse, Greek, South American, biblical — and archaeology has never confirmed a race of ten-foot skeletons behind any of them. The myth survives anyway, because it was never really about height. The old texts obsess over pride, not measurements: power that expands until it forgets any limit exists. That’s the giant that actually shows up in daily life — not in a mound of bones, but in the moment power convinces you it doesn’t need a ceiling.

If you’ve ever caught yourself acting like the giant in your own story, tell us in a comment what brought you back down to size. We read every one.
