Two Readings, One Verse
Genesis 6 says only that giants were on the earth when the sons of God took wives among the daughters of men — four short verses that later became the seed of a much bigger story in the Book of Enoch, where fallen angels descend and father a race of giants. The Bible itself supports a quieter reading: two family lines, one carrying the light and one carrying violence, merging — and losing their measure in the process. The giants weren’t a new species. They were an old problem at a new scale: force without character. As Veil puts it in the episode: „The Nephilim were never a mystery about how tall men can grow. They’re a warning about how far we can fall.”
