Ancient UFOs: how long before 1947 do the first written evidence appear?
The discussion about UFOs almost always starts in the same place: June 24, 1947, pilot Kenneth Arnold reports nine shiny objects above the Cascade Mountains in Washington. The press calls them „flying saucers”. The world is divided into two camps. And since then, it has remained that way.
But there is a problem with this story. One — and it's huge.
The phenomenon did not begin in 1947.
It was just the moment when the modern West began to officially document it. Ancient chronicles, manuscripts, and epics say something entirely different — and say it with a precision that cannot be ignored by any truly free-thinking person.
What did the spherical machines in the sky describe in Sanskrit manuscripts?
Among the oldest known texts that describe an unidentified flying object are the Sanskrit epics — Ramayana and Mahabharata — dated, in their oral form, around the 2nd millennium BCE.
The description is stunning in its precision: „Taking to the sky, the chariot immediately turned into a pearl in the sky.”
It's not poetry. It's a technical description. And it's not the only one.
Ancient flying objects: what the school-taught chronicles don't say
In the Indian epic Mahabharata (the story of the descendants of King Bharata) — one of the oldest literary texts of humanity — the description becomes even more precise:
„The flying machines had the shape of a sphere and moved through the air.”
- Spherical shape. Movement through the air. Unusual speed. The same characteristics that American military pilots report to the US Congress in 2025 — described in detail over 3,000 years earlier.
But not India alone.
Ancient Chinese chronicles speak of Emperor Huang-dy, who ruled in the 26th century BC. According to legend, „his chariot could fly through the air, could become heavy or light, could stand still or move”. An object that changes its mass and speed at will — exactly the number one characteristic of documented UFOs in the 20th century.
And then comes Alexander the Great.
What did Alexander's soldiers see in the sky above the Tigris?
The chronicles of Alexander the Great's expedition — 4th century BC — contain something that history textbooks prefer not to mention. During the crossing of the Tigris and Euphrates, the chroniclers recorded the presence of a flying object that Aristotle himself had cataloged with a specific term: „flying disc”.
Not an uneducated soldier. Not a frightened peasant. Aristotle — the most systematic thinker of antiquity — already had a term for them. Which means that the phenomenon was frequent enough to deserve a name.
And then something inexplicable by any conventional theory happens.
*Transparency note: the direct association between Aristotle and the term „flying disc” circulates in UFO literature, but has not been found in a verifiable primary Aristotelian text. Secondary sources that quote it do not indicate an exact reference. We include the information with this reservation.
The UFO phenomenon in ancient history: why it disappears exactly when Christianity appears
This is the moment that is not found in any popular encyclopedia. It's not an opinion. It's a historically documented pattern.
Ancient UFOs appear constantly in the chronicles of India, China, Mesopotamia, Greece. They are described with precision, with technical details, with fear and amazement. There is a term for them in Sanskrit. There is a term invented by Aristotle. There are military records from Alexander the Great's campaigns.
And then — they disappear.
Father Rodion explicitly states: „In the times of Christianity's flourishing, testimonies about UFO phenomena disappear.”
They do not reduce. They do not gradually decrease. They disappear.
— exactly when scientific materialism and atheism begin to conquer Europe. They return even stronger in the 20th century — exactly when faith retreats from the public space.

There are three possible positions regarding this pattern. All three are honest.
- The Skeptic says: mere coincidence. People interpreted natural phenomena through the filter of their culture. Christianity changed the filter.
- The Scientist says: we do not know enough. The data is insufficient for a conclusion.
- The Patristic Tradition says something more precise — and more uncomfortable.
St. John Chrysostom writes: „Câți demoni umblă prin acest văzduh? Dacă Dumnezeu n-ar face decât să le îngăduie să ne arate chipul lor cumplit și respingător, ne-am ieși din minți.”
In other words: the phenomenon did not disappear. The protection changed.

The UFOs from antiquity: what question has no one answered in 3,000 years?
There is a question that historians avoid, scientists postpone and theologians have known for centuries.
If the spherical machines from the sky described in the Mahabharata, in the chronicles of Alexander the Great and in the Sanskrit manuscripts are the same phenomenon as the one reported by American military pilots in 2025 — then we are not talking about extraterrestrial technology.
We are talking about something much older than any known civilization.
Something that was present at the beginning of humanity. Something that disappeared exactly when Christianity flourished. Something that returned exactly when faith weakened.
This is not a conclusion. It is an observation. And an honest observation deserves an honest question:
If the UFO phenomenon is new — why do ancient texts 3,000 years old describe it? And if it is old — why does it behave differently depending on the spiritual era of humanity?
We do not know the complete answer. And it is important to say that explicitly.
We only know that the question exists. And that those who have tried to ignore it — have not succeeded.
The word from the 2nd millennium BC that modern science has not caught up with
